New Album

2023 will be a good year. I have a new album in the works and will be hitting the studio in January to start the recording process. Lots of songs to choose from and a great band playing on the songs, including Don Kerr (Dan Mangan, Ron Sexsmith), Jeff Dunk (Textiles, Cadre) and Andrew Barker (Bruce Peninsula). Stay tuned!

Meanwhile I’m playing Old Galt Bottle Shop on Saturday November 26th from 2-5pm.

Fundraiser for Village Vinyl!

I’m taking part in a great fundraiser show this weekend featuring a slew of great performers, raising money for a record shop that is close to our hearts. Village Vinyl Music Emporium and Cafe, nestled in Etobicoke, has held it’s Sunday Sessions for many years, featuring many great artists. This weekend, a roster of players will play to support Village Vinyl and it’s great owners, Keith and Karyn. It’s bound to be a great afternoon. Please join us!

Here’s the story …When I was in my teens, my Dad – along with some of his American pals – bought some land and built a ranch in Colorado. We used to go to Buena Vista every summer and hike the mountains, drive ATV’s, visit ghost towns and old train tunnels, eat Tex-Mex, wander and watch the sky. It was truly an amazing time. I wrote a song a few years ago called Buena Vista Moon (from the ‘Stranger Than Yesterday’ album) about the tiny town in the middle of the state. Recently, I found old camcorder video footage my parents shot at the ranch in 1986. I decided to edit the footage and put it with the song. Here it is – with time stamps in some shots, flowing streams, mountains, rainbows, animals, old carriages and my folks, the ghosts of Bruce and Donna Robertson. Hope you enjoy. Thanks to Ken Yoshioka for the killer harmonica playing!!

Hey all.

New music is here! I’ve been working at my home studio (Hashbrick Road Studios) and I am releasing a new album, recorded at home, in isolation. Homemade music for these homebound times.

Hers is the latest video for “Old Fences”. Video directed by Sean Ryan.
